Audrey Miller is an entrepreneur who has moved from a rehabilitation practice into new territory: eldercare.

Although Miller has both a bachelor and master’s degree in social work and is a Canadian Certified Life Care Planner, her roots are in vocational rehabilitation. She has her Canadian Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CCRC) designation and has been practicing in the field of rehabilitation since 1983, initially in the public sector with the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services.

In 2004, Miller launched Elder Caring Inc., a geriatric care management company that offers care management services to families and corporations across Canada.

“Elder Caring Inc. was created to meet a growing need in the community for a coordinated, professional and interdisciplinary approach to service delivery, with a focus on the health and well being of an older person and his or her family, ” explains Miller. “Our focus is on health and function rather than on disability.”

Miller has been providing health and rehabilitation consulting services for over 25 years. She is qualified as an expert witness in rehabilitation and life care planning in the Ontario Superior Court where her expertise has been called upon by the defense and plaintiff bars, as well as by the federal government’s Department of Justice.
