FAQ

Why should I pay for your senior and geriatric care service when I can get services for free from the government?

The key is in the word “service”.  Although you may be able to access specific facilities and/or geriatric care providers through the government, there are often lengthy wait times to get the answers you need, and you are limited to the tools/resources publicly available.  We get to know you and your needs, and can offer a broader range of seniors’ services, and help you pick what’s right for you and your family.  We are in the business of customized elder caring solutions.  We will work with you until you are completely satisfied that your care needs have been addressed and resolved.  Elder Caring Managers are often able to respond immediately and commit to working within your schedule.  Usually we are able to arrange meetings often within a day or two, and will meet with you when it is convenient for you.  We are available to meet day or evening, can accommodate long distance telephone arrangements as well – and will even meet with you on the weekend or over holidays!

How do I know when it is time to call an Elder Caring Consultant?

The following are signs to look for:

  • Is your loved one refusing assistance or making decisions that could jeopardize their safety or well being?
  • Is your relative losing weight, for no known reason?
  • Have they recently fallen?
  • Is the home unkempt and becoming unsafe?
  • Is meal preparation becoming difficult?
  • Is money management becoming a concern?
  • Are they able to (and do they) maintain a neat appearance?
  • Has drinking become a problem?
  • Is it safe for your parents to drive? If not, who does the driving for them?
  • Has there been a sudden memory loss or increased confusion?
  • Are they having difficulty with managing their medications?
  • Are they looking for housing alternatives?
  • Have they become increasingly frail?
  • Are they having problems finding or keeping appropriate home care workers?

If you answer yes to the above, it is time to talk to an Elder Caring Consultant.

My parents live in another city. They are not well. I am unable to fly to see them every time there is a problem. Can you help?

This is an excellent example of the role we can play. As an adult, balancing work, family, and elder care can become a challenge whether your parent lives next door or out of town or province. One solution is to hire an Elder Caring Consultant. We are professionals and  specialize in assisting older adults and their families. We ensure that your loved one’s needs are being met by providing necessary services and monitoring following a thorough assessment and plan of care.
